Austria supports purchase of electric vehicles

The province of Styria in Austria soon promotes the purchase of electric vehicles and is in up to 1,000 euros. Following the decision of the state government there are 250 € for an electric bike, electric scooter for a 500 € and 1,000 € if an electric car is purchased. In Styria there are about 654 000 cars and only among them only 11 electric vehicles.

The environment Manfred Wegscheider (SPO) has criticized the absence of a network of charging stations. Currently in Germany there is no funding for buying an electric car but with the scrapping a subsidy only if a nine year old car scrapped and a new car is purchased. An optimization of the scrapping would be useful but the federal government is not ready yet to change the rules. The most popular electric vehicles are the Twike and Cityel.

The electric car manufacturer Smiles Ltd (formerly Citycom AG) has secured the distribution of the Indian Reva electric car. The electric vehicles Cityel, Twike and Reva can be purchased for relatively affordable prices in Germany. In the coming years, electric cars are slowly but surely becoming a normal image onto the German streets. However, only when a power station network established and the range of electric vehicles is increased.
