HP launches laptop with Core CPU i3-550
The smaller G62 comes with 15.6-inch screen. The display of the G72 measures 17.3 inches diagonally. Both devices will be available in April.
Hewlett-Packard has introduced two notebooks for home users with Intel's Core-i3-CPU. The G62 model comes with a 15.6-inch screen and a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, the display of the G72 measures 17.3 inches diagonally, and resolve in 1600 by 900 pixels. The screens use the bright BrightView technology, but may reflect in unfavorable lighting.
All other features are identical: Both devices come with up to 4 GB of DDR3 memory (1066 MHz) and a 500 GB hard drive capacity. Intel's integrated graphics chip in the supplemented an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5430 with 512MB VRAM. The operating system is Windows, there are 7 Professional, available as 32 - and 64-bit version.
Connections to other computers are available over the network, WLAN or Bluetooth. For peripheral devices, there are three USB 2.0 ports.
The notebooks include a LightScribe DVD ± RW drive, a Webcam, a microphone and Altec-Lansing speakers. In addition the Newcomers a 5-in-1 card reader and an HDMI 1.3 interface.
HP calls only a starting price of 549 euros, without specifying the technical data of the minimum configuration. Street prices are not yet available. In April, both models will be available.
