The Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi wants to introduce the world to be i-MiEV electric car now and not only in Japan. This had the car manufacturers on the New York Auto Show and announced in July this year, the electric vehicle in the Japanese car market will be available. The U.S. energy company, Portland General Electric and the U.S. state of Oregon also participates in an extensive test program of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV. As part of the testing program, charging stations for electric vehicles will be built.


The electric car from Japan with the unusual name of a range of 130 kilometers. As a basis, the Mitsubishi minicar "i" made and installed instead of a gasoline motor, a lithium-ion battery, electric motor and charging system. If the battery is empty, it may be at a 220 V electrical outlet within six to eight hours refilled with electricity. The buyer will receive with the purchase of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV a quick-charging plug with which the electric vehicle is recharged within a half hour to 80 percent.


Car manufacturers are increasingly relying on the development of electric cars and reacting to the demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. The economic crisis has hit especially hard the auto companies that have set on cars with high fuel consumption. The U.S. car manufacturer General Motors has failed because of its strong policy model already close to bankruptcy and has been proposed by the U.S. government go bankrupt.
